Auri's Way

Do we really need another travel blogger?

I’ve been meaning to launch my travel blog for so long, and yet, I let that exact question stop me everytime. For a long time, Auri’s Way has been pushed aside, postponed and burried deep. But maybe there’s a time for everything, and that time has finally come.

I like to think that all travel bloggers have a special voice and a way of travelling, that may appeal to some more than others. I think there is space for everyone to tell their stories.

This isn’t a blog about quitting everything to travel the world full-time. There’s no round-the-world trip here—just travels whenever I can, sometimes as a digital nomad, sometimes just for the length of a vacation.

But allow me to go back to the beginning.

My story as a travel blogger

It all began in London, on a beautiful June day. Three months of internship, only three nights booked in a hotel, and no plans beyond that.

After countless afternoons by the Thames, Sundays wandering through Notting Hill, and sunrises over still-sleeping streets, it was time to move on. Granada, then Australia, Canada, New Zealand… Years filled with discoveries, challenges big and small, winding paths, and moments of pure awe.

Unreal shades of blue in glacial lakes, nights spent around a campfire, landscapes that brought tears to my eyes, and encounters that turned into the most important people in my life.

And then, one day, Madrid. A city where I chose to settle—drawn by a love for Spanish culture… and by love itself. ❤️

Why did I choose to become a travel blogger?

For over 10 years, travel has been what makes my heart beat. It’s what excites me, amazes me, teaches me, and inspires me.

In 2018, I launched my first travel blog, but with little time and motivation to keep it up, it quickly faded into oblivion.

Creating a blog also comes with certain moral dilemmas. By sharing my experiences, am I unintentionally contributing to the overcrowding of those hidden gems I’ve cherished so much? Some places are best left untouched.

I can only hope that the readers of this blog will embrace a more responsible way of traveling, respecting both the places they visit and the people who call them home. Don’t start trampling lavender fields, now!

My travel philosophy

I can’t stand Instagram.

Posting feels like a chore, I have no desire to share my private life, and I believe it promotes the wrong mindset. Unfortunately, nowadays, it feels like a necessary evil when trying to build a blog.

The social media have changed the way we travel. Today, we visit places because they’re trendy, we take photos for the algorithm, and we chase an idealized version of escape. While social media is essential for this blog to exist, I refuse to let it dictate my travels. I want to keep exploring the world at my own pace, capturing moments out of passion, and visiting places that truly resonate with me.

This blog doesn’t claim to know it all, and my guides aren’t the most exhaustive. Not every trip is perfect, and not every place will be loved by everyone. Because travel isn’t a checklist; it’s an imperfect adventure, filled with highs, lows, and unexpected surprises.

A new Travel Planning business to help you travel differently

Over the years and through countless trips, I’ve developed a passion for crafting tailor-made itineraries, hunting down the best spots, and uncovering hidden gems that haven’t yet made it onto every “Top 10 Must-See” list. I’ve learned how to dodge the tourist traps, escape the crowds, and create journeys that feel truly unique—experiences designed just for you, far from the beaten path.

But I also know that not everyone has the time, patience, or experience to plan a trip down to the last detail. And there’s nothing more frustrating than setting off with high expectations, only to end up in a place that feels overly touristy, soulless, or simply not right for you.

That’s why, alongside this blog, I created Travel with Auri—for those who want to travel differently, avoiding cookie-cutter itineraries and generic experiences. I’ve chosen to specialize in Spain, a country I know inside out, to offer meaningful journeys that go beyond clichés and truly capture the essence of the destination.

Because the best trip is the one that feels like yours.
